COMMUNITY - BASED PROGRAM

Livelihood Program

The Community-Based Livelihood Program is a flagship initiative of DMIRIE Foundation aimed at empowering marginalized individuals and families in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) and underserved communities in Davao City.

This program focuses on men, women, and youth who face significant barriers to improving their lives — including poverty, limited education, and lack of access to livelihood skills or entrepreneurial opportunities.

Many of these individuals also struggle to access start-up capital or formal financial assistance, preventing them from building sustainable sources of income. The DMIRIE Foundation is committed to changing this reality by equipping communities with the tools, skills, and opportunities they need to break the cycle of poverty.

Equipping Individuals for Self-Sufficiency

Through comprehensive skills training and resource support, the program equips beneficiaries with practical skills that empower them to earn sustainable incomes, support their families, and contribute to community development.

Participants gain new knowledge, confidence, and the tools necessary to pursue meaningful, income-generating activities — opening doors to personal growth and economic independence.

Partnership for Lasting Impact

This initiative is made possible through a partnership with TESDA – Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) under its community-based livelihood training program. TESDA provides expert trainers, hands-on sessions, and demonstrations that nurture the talents and capabilities of participants in their chosen fields.

Local Government Units (LGUs), particularly in IGACOS, play a vital role in providing employment pathways for graduates, ensuring that skills development translates into real opportunities.

Guided by Faith and Biblical Principles

Our Livelihood Program reflects timeless Biblical values that promote hard work, responsibility, and community transformation:

Proverbs 14:23 – "All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty."

Proverbs 10:4 – "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."

2 Thessalonians 3:12 – "Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat."

These teachings inspire us to empower communities through hard work, skills development, and faith-driven action.
